How Slam works, what it costs and why your keys never leave your wallet. Short answers, real numbers.
Getting started.
What Slam is, and what you need before your first launch.
Slam is a no-code NFT launchpad on Solana. You generate or upload your art, set price and phases, and deploy a Metaplex Core collection with its own hosted mint page. Every mint lands in the buyer's wallet as a real NFT that trades on Magic Eden and Tensor right away.
No. Uploading, generating, pricing, phases, allowlists and deploying all happen in a step-by-step wizard in your browser. There is no CLI, no config file and no RPC to set up — you just approve the transactions in your wallet.
Three things, and none of them is an account or a signup.
- A Solana wallet such as Phantom or Solflare.
- Your art — a folder of files, or a collection made in the built-in generator.
- A bit of SOL: about 0.03 SOL covers the 0.015 SOL launch fee, refundable account rent and network fees.
Most creators go from folder to live mint page in a few minutes. Uploading is the longest part and depends on your file sizes and connection. The deploy itself is usually two transactions, approved with a single wallet prompt and confirmed in seconds.
Creating & the generator.
File formats, collection size and the in-browser trait generator.
Images can be JPG, PNG, GIF or WebP. Audio, video and 3D (MP4, WebM, MOV, MP3, WAV, OGG, FLAC, GLB, GLTF, HTML) work too, as long as each file has a cover image with the same name. Drop a folder in any of these layouts:
- Images + one JSON per image (Metaplex standard, or a HashLips
_metadata.json). - Images + a
metadata.csvwith names, descriptions and one column per trait. - Images only — we name them and you add traits in the review step.
Up to 10,000 items per collection. The on-chain setup costs the same whether you launch 50 or 10,000, because items are minted on demand instead of pre-loaded into the candy machine.
Drop one folder per trait layer (background, body, eyes…), stack them in order and set a rarity weight per trait — in the UI or straight from the file name, like gold#5.png. Add rules to exclude or require trait pairs, pick a count up to 10,000, and every combination comes out unique with no duplicates. Rendering happens entirely in your browser, so your art never leaves your machine until you launch.
Images plus a Metaplex-standard JSON per item, with every trait written as an attribute. Download it all as a zip, or press "Use in launch" to hand the collection straight to the create wizard — no re-uploading.
Yes. The review step of the wizard has a trait editor: filter items by trait, value or text, select them, then set or remove a trait across the whole selection. You can also rename a trait type or value everywhere in one go, and you see a preview grid and trait table before anything touches chain.
Launching & phases.
Phases, allowlists, reveals, mint order, airdrops and pausing.
You can run up to 8 phases, for example allowlist, then holders, then public. Each phase has its own price (free is fine), start and end time, per-wallet limit and phase cap, and is open to everyone, to an allowlist, or to holders of a collection you choose. All of it is enforced on-chain by the Candy Guard, and you can edit phases from your dashboard after launch.
Paste wallet addresses or import a CSV / TXT file. Slam turns the list into a Merkle tree and only its 32-byte root goes on-chain, so a list of 10,000 wallets costs the same as a list of ten. Eligible wallets are recognised automatically on your mint page; their first mint includes a one-time verification step.
Yes. Turn on reveal-later and upload a placeholder — every NFT shows it during the mint. When you're ready, press Reveal in your dashboard: the real art and traits are written to every minted NFT in batches, signed by you as the update authority, and any later mints come out revealed.
Sequential mints items in your folder order. Random shuffles the whole collection with a cryptographically secure shuffle before upload, so nobody — you included — can snipe a known rare by its mint number. A hash of the final order is stored on-chain as provenance.
Yes. From your dashboard you can mint the next items straight to any wallets — team, giveaways, collabs. Airdrops count toward supply but not toward any phase, and cost a fixed 0.00016 SOL per NFT plus the NFT's account rent.
Yes, with one click in your dashboard. Pausing blocks every phase instantly while your own airdrops keep working, and unpausing restores everything exactly as it was — times, prices and caps untouched.
Minting & trading.
What collectors receive and how your collection reaches the marketplaces.
A Metaplex Core NFT, straight into their own wallet, that belongs to your verified collection on-chain — it can't be faked or detached. Name, image and traits load from your hosted metadata, and it shows up in Phantom, Solflare and other wallets right away.
Yes, with nothing to apply for. Core collections are indexed automatically, so every NFT is tradable the moment it's minted. For the verified look — banner, description, socials — claim your collection page with your creator wallet in Magic Eden Creator Hub and the Tensor Creator Portal; your dashboard walks you through both.
You set the royalty percentage at launch and can split it across up to five wallets. It's written into the collection's Metaplex Core Royalties plugin, so it lives on the asset standard itself and marketplaces pay it out to your wallets on secondary sales.
Fees & money.
Every number, up front. No subscriptions, no hidden steps.
A one-time launch fee of 0.015 SOL, paid in the deploy transaction. On top of that you put down about 0.01 SOL of refundable account rent for the sale, plus a fraction of a cent in network fees. File uploads and hosting are included — no monthly fees, no listing fees.
The higher of 0.006 SOL or 2.5% of the mint price, paid by the minter in the mint transaction. On a 1 SOL mint you receive 0.975 SOL and the minter pays exactly 1 SOL; on a 0.1 SOL mint you receive 0.0975 SOL and the minter pays 0.1035 SOL. Free mints carry only the 0.006 SOL fee.
Instantly. Mint revenue goes straight from the buyer's wallet to yours inside the same transaction. There's no escrow, no withdrawal step and no payout schedule — Slam never holds it.
Solana asks for a small refundable deposit, called rent, for every account that stores data. Your sale's accounts hold about 0.01 SOL; once you sell out, close the sale from your dashboard and that rent comes back to your wallet. Collectors pay about 0.003 SOL of rent per NFT, which stays with the NFT itself.
The phase price, the platform fee, about 0.003 SOL of NFT account rent, and a tiny network fee. The mint page shows the total before they sign, and their wallet shows every transfer before they approve.
Safety & trust.
Non-custodial by design. Your wallet, your keys, your collection.
Never. Slam is non-custodial: every transaction is built in your browser and signed in your own wallet, where you can review it before approving. Mint revenue moves directly from buyer to creator, and Slam has no way to move your SOL or your NFTs.
Minting runs on Metaplex Core, Core Candy Machine and Core Candy Guard — audited, open-source programs that thousands of Solana collections are built on. Slam doesn't deploy a custom contract of its own, so there's no new contract to trust. You can check the program IDs in any transaction you sign, e.g. Core CoREENxT6tW1HoK8ypY1SxRMZTcVPm7R94rH4PZNhX7d and Core Candy Machine CMACYFENjoBMHzapRXyo1JZkVS6EtaDDzkjMrmQLvr4J.
You do. Your wallet is the update authority of the collection and the authority of its sale, so only you can change metadata, phases, reveals or royalties. That also means you can manage it with any Metaplex-compatible tool, with or without Slam.
Images and metadata are stored on a fast CDN and pinned to IPFS, so they load quickly and don't depend on a single server. Hosting is included in the launch fee.
Your seed phrase or private key — ever, for any reason. Slam only asks you to connect your wallet and approve transactions or messages you can read. Anyone asking you to "validate", "sync" or "restore" your wallet is trying to drain it, so never share it.
A few habits keep you safe:
- Only use the official domain — bookmark it, and don't trust links from DMs or replies.
- The only official $SLAM contract address is the one in the top bar of this site.
- Read what your wallet shows before signing: a mint shows the price and fee, never a transfer of everything you own.
- We never DM first, and never offer support through direct messages.
$SLAM & the flywheel.
The coin layer that turns platform fees into stronger floors.
$SLAM is the Slam platform coin, launched on pump. Its contract address will appear in the top bar of this site — it reads "soon" until the coin is live, and that top bar is the only official source for the CA.
Fees flow back into Slam collections instead of sitting in a treasury. They sweep collection floors, the swept NFTs are burned, and thinner supply means stronger floors, more volume and more fees to loop again. Because sweeps and burns are on-chain transactions, anyone can verify them.
Yes — this is rolling out. You'll be able to give your collection its own coin when you create it, or link a coin you already run, so holders and traders find both in one place.
Rolling out: you'll be able to pair your collection's coin against tokenized stocks, so it trades against a stock instead of only against SOL. It's the coin layer of your collection, set up from the same dashboard.
Nothing on this page is financial advice. Coins and NFTs are volatile; the flywheel describes how fees are used, not a promise of price, profit or returns.
Tools.
The boring stuff, one click — free for any collection.
Five tools, free for any Solana collection — not only ones launched on Slam. Your wallet signs everything and you only pay network fees.
- Holder snapshot — every holder with counts, exported as CSV, JSON or a hashlist.
- Airdrop — send NFTs, SOL or any SPL token to a list of wallets, batched with retries.
- Update metadata — rename assets or swap URIs, with a diff preview before signing.
- Burn — destroy NFTs in batches and reclaim their rent.
- Inspector — authority, royalties, delegates and plugins of any collection or asset.
